MEETS SPEC — ESTIMATED
Checked against the official specification — source cited on every document.
Worth knowing: No photo editing of any kind is permitted — the Australian Passport Office rejects retouched photos. We measure and crop; we never alter pixels. If the background or lighting fails, the honest fix is retaking the photo.

What is a Australia Passport photo?
An Australian passport photo is a printed colour photograph between 35×45 mm and 40×50 mm with the head measuring 32–36 mm from chin to crown, on a plain white or light grey background, taken within the last six months. Glasses are not permitted — Australia removed the allowance entirely.
Australia takes printed photos only; there is no digital upload for the passport. The Australian Passport Office also prohibits any photo editing, so the honest route is a well-taken photo measured against the geometry — not software that fixes it afterwards.
Australia accepts printed photos only, so the print sheet is the deliverable: check your photo against the APO geometry live in your browser, then print the exact-size sheet at any pharmacy kiosk.

Frequently asked questions
Can I wear glasses in an Australian passport photo?
No — glasses are not permitted in Australian passport photos, with narrow medical exceptions requiring documentation. Take them off for the photo.
What are the size requirements?
Print between 35×45 mm and 40×50 mm with the head (chin to crown) measuring 32–36 mm. Our sheet prints at exactly 35×45 mm with the head band verified before you pay.
Can I submit digitally?
No — Australian passport applications take printed photos only (at least one endorsed on the back by your guarantor for some application types). Two identical prints are typically required; the sheet gives you four.
What background works?
Plain white or light grey, uniform, with no shadows behind your head. The live check measures both shade and uniformity.
Compliance, honestly
- We validate your photo against the official rules — we never retouch your face, and we only normalize the background where the destination country permits it.
- Every requirement is cited from official government sources, with the verification date shown on the page.
- You get a measured report, not a guarantee — final acceptance always rests with the issuing authority.
